Bigotry and hatred are a part of the dark side of religion and are common to all religions. White Supremacy and the bigotry and hatred that go with it are religion based. All of the white supremacists I have known claim Christianity as their religious heritage even though all of the scriptures they quote for justification of their worldview come from the myths legends and lies that preceded Christ.
20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:
21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.
22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.
23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.
24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.
25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.
26 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.
– Genesis 9:20–27, King James Version
Their religious narrative usually goes something like this: God created Adam white, perfect, and in His own image. God created Eve from Adam to be his companion and wife, therefore equal to but in a role subservient to Adam. White supremacy is really about white MALE supremacy. The lineage from Adam to Noah is clearly defined. Noah was white and the last true Adamite. God created a great flood and destroyed all life on earth save Noah, his family, and the animals Noah had brought with him on the ark. At some point thereafter, Noah got drunk and was caught with his pants down so to speak by his son Ham. As a result, Noah cursed his grandson and marked his grandson Canaan saying his descendants would forever be servants.
White male supremacy is a myth that has led to the conspiracy of common thought which has justified slavery, segregation, apartheid, bigotry and hatred for thousands of years. It is the myth upon which the Southern Baptist Church was founded in an attempt to keep that conspiracy of common thought alive. It is time for the myth to end.
White supremacists are more than willing to resort to violence and killing to prove their point, but that violence proves nothing and accomplishes nothing. Only God knows the truth, if you are so sure of your worldview, declare yourself a Martyr of your faith and let God speak for God. Our death in the Martyr’s Prayer Challenge will mean more and have a greater impact than all of the death caused by bigotry and hate over the past five thousand years.
“Lord,
Please answer The Martyr’s Prayer Challenge as requested in The Martyr’s Prayer and bring peace to this planet.
Amen”
