For peace and prosperity to prevail good governance is required at all levels of society and leaders must be held accountable for their decisions, their performance, and their indiscretions. In the United States we came within minutes of losing our government to an attempted coup on January 6, 2021. If the insurrectionists had been able to block the escape route used by Congress and prevented their lock down in a secure location the results would have been very different. That revolt was inspired by and controlled by Donald Trump the outgoing President of the United States. If he had been held accountable for his actions and indiscretions in his first impeachment trial the insurrection never would have taken place, but instead of accountability, the Senate simply decided to lower the standard and put party and party politics before country. After the attempted coup, the House once again brought charges against Donald Trump and once again the Senate decided to lower the standard. Lowering our standards for governance simply opens the door to greater evil yet to come. It is time to return to the original American Dream and the standards established by our forefathers between 1776 and 1787. If we cannot put America first before party and religion and rebuild the wall of separation between church and state we are doomed.
The human race is at a critical juncture in its development. The problems of overpopulation, global warming, climate change and destruction of our environment can not be solves without the cooperation of the entire human race and a stable international government with very limited powers to keep the peace and hold the leadership and policy makers of individual nations accountable for their actions. No country can stand alone against a united world. We need international governance, not international treaties that can be broken at the whim of any would be despot. It is time to reform the United Nations and develop an international government with very limited power to hold world leaders accountable under the rule of law. It is in America’s best interest to proceed as an equal partner in a united world. We cannot control the human race or the world, but we certainly can influence its destiny.
